Four employees are based out of our office near historic Ellijay, Georgia. They administer our programs and are the point of contact for the general public. You are welcome to stop in and buy a t-shirt, process your membership, or just say hello.

Robin Hitner, Interim Executive Director

Jennifer Lopez, Outreach Director
Jennifer comes to ForestWatch with a background in marketing, program development, and volunteer coordination for several non-profits in the Dalton, GA area. She is working toward a bachelor's degree in Communications. She recently moved to Ellijay, and enjoys playing blue-grass music on her guitar, singing, wildlife photography, hiking, rock climbing, and whitewater rafting. Prior to coming to Georgia, she worked as a seasonal park ranger in Westminster, Colorado, where she also volunteered with Hawkquest to protect eagles, owls, falcons, and hawks.
Diane Freer, Office Manager
Diane has a background in Software Development, Project Management, and Training in the Financial, Payroll, and Transaction Processing fields. In the foreground is her need to be out and about in nature, whether it is exploring the Canadian Rockies, fishing in remote Alaska, or hiking the Southern forests. Diane and her husband Ned love their yearly salmon fishing trips to Alaska, but can be found most often enjoying the fishing on Carter’s Lake. That time away from civilization is what has kept her sane. Well, almost.
Darren Wolfgang, Forest Ecologist
From Pennsylvania, Darren holds a degree in forestry with additional training in fisheries management. He may be a “yankee” but rumor has it he’s got a terrible weakness for southern pit BBQ! His interests include fishing, camping, archery, gardening, cooking, history and politics. Thanks to Darren’s collaborative work, ForestWatch is building better relationships with Forest Service personnel.
